Marla and Terry were married February 28, 2009 on the beach at Hotel Le Toiny in St. Barth. The reception followed at the Eden Rock Hotel, with an after party at Casa Nikki. The day folliwng the wedding, the couple treated friend and family to sailing and swimming in the Carribean on “Wild Horses” and “Lone Fox”.

Wedding Photo booth

I set this up at last weekend’s wedding in Cincinnati, Ohio. The clients had tons of room at their venue, so we tucked a photo booth away in the corner. As the night went along and the guest loosened up, everyone started taking turns at the photobooth. Everyone loved it and the bride and groom loved the slideshow I put together for them to view the next day.

The setup is pretty simple, it uses a ring light and remote cable, and the guests use the cable to take their own photo. It took some instruction and encouragement, and it turned out to be a huge hit!

If you have room at your reception venue I really recommend a photo booth. You will end up with tons of fun photos of your guests, printed in an album, and online to share with everyone.

This couple had a great idea for the place cards at the wedding reception. They were placed in an 10×4ft section of sod near the entry. As the guests came in they would fine their card and it would tell them what table they were to sit at.

Beautiful table setting at a wedding I was privileged to shoot in Fort Worth, Texas. Everything at this wedding was top notch.

This was shot when the tables where still hidden behind a movable wall. The wedding and reception was held in the same space. The venue quickly changed it while the guest were enjoying a cocktail hour, it was amazing smooth.

I was out shooting a couple’s engagement pictures downtown this morning and they noticed three ropes hanging to the ground on this one building that were swinging back and forth. We looked up and saw this.

The window washers would swing themselves across back and forth to wash the whole window, then repel down to the next level. Awesome!

Missouri, which squandered a 16-point lead in a loss to Iowa State in its last home game a week ago, nearly rallied from the same deficit. The Tigers, who trailed 56-40 with 13:36 to go, cut the gap to two on J.T. Tiller’s 3-pointer with 1:58 left before Kansas State wrapped it up at the free-throw line by going 10-for-12.

Kansas State’s lead was down to two points again before Cartier Martin, who had 15 points, made a pair of free throws with seven seconds to go. The Wildcats were 37-for-43 from the line, Hoskins enjoying a perfect 12-for-12 day, while Missouri went 23-for-30.

The 24^th-ranked Missouri women’s swimming and diving team had a dominant day in the pool on senior day, outscoring Iowa State by a 184-103 final score this afternoon at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The meet came after Friday evening’s scheduled men’s and women’s home dual against Missouri State was postponed due to the winter storm that hit Columbia yesterday.

Revere Beach

I went to Revere Beach today, its the last stop on the blue line north of Boston. There was a Sand Castle contest going on, so I took pictures.

The people that made these were from Florida mostly, and were called Master Sand Sculptors. Apparently you can pursue sand sculpting as a career making you money from contests like this one and corporate gigs.

20 Mile Bike Ride through Boston

My route had bike trails for about half of it, the second half was riding on the street, pretty scary, but most streets have bike lanes, but that doesnt mean anything in Boston.

Boston’s Freedom Trail

4th of July Boston

I went to the 4th of July Celebration on the Esplanade in Boston. For those of you that dont know the Espanade is on the Charles River with Cambridge on one side and Boston on the other. I positioned myself on the Mass Ave bridge about two hours before the 10pm show. I was amazed I got a front row spot on the bridge, there was rain earlier in the evening that scared allot of people off from showing up hours early, but still a half a million attended the event.

Aerosmith and the Boston Pops performed at the Hatch Shell , but I didnt see them, I didnt venture to that side of the river.

My roommates and I went to Cristoforo Colombo Park in Worcester last night, July 3rd, to see the fireworks show there. The Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra performed during the 25 min show. Here are some images from the show, Tonight I plan on going to the fireworks show in Boston on the Charles River. The Boston Pops and Aerosmith will be performing at the Esplanade during the show that is expected to attract as many as 700,000 people.

My Place in Boston

For those who don’t know I am currently living in Dorchester, Ma just south of downtown Boston. If you are familiar with Boston you know Dorchester isn’t such a safe place to live…but I live in the Savin Hill portion of Dorchester which has nicer single family homes and beautiful rows of 3 level apartment buildings. Still Savin Hill used to be as bad as Dorchester, people nicknamed it “Stab and Kill”, so I consider it a neighborhood in transition, on the surface it looks very nice and safe, but its no Cambridge.

The Apartment is VERY nice, it was just redone last year, all wood floor, crown molding, marble kitchen floors and Formica countertops, all stainless steel appliances, with recesses lighting throughout. Its tons nicer than my place in Columbia with a price tag to match.
